Why did Avoca create this initiative?
It's Avoca's way to continue paying it forward bringing awareness to #mensmentalhealth proudly supporting ReachOut.com as it's core to our business belief.
At Avoca we believe in personal transformation. It’s all in the experience. Personal transformation is a prerequisite for successful business transformation. Our relentless pursuit of personal improvement drives us to continually perform at our best every day.
From concept through to delivery, immersing ourselves in the business of coffee, building our very own roastery, releasing a specialty coffee brand, and today we fulfil orders daily at barty.co
How did Avoca make an impact?
Leveraging our CX, XD, CD capability it became evident the serious impact COVID has had on mental health while in isolation.
Bart Jawien our Founding & Managing Partner wanted to hike Everst Base Camp this year and with restriction to fly internationally we decided to push status quo mid COVID, he was determined to make an impact. Bart walked the Over Land Track in Tasmania a grade 4 hike Solo in Winter. Also, he was put into quarantine for 10 days before being aloud to leave for the hike.
With men's suicide rates increasing by 50% it was the least we could do to help bring awareness that it's A-OK for men to ask for help in difficult times supporting ReachOut.com an online mental health forum, articles written specifically for kids, youth and parents.
Our goal from the outset was to raise $110K and donations came in pre and post Bart's solo hike, with the view to continuing to pay it forward by sharing #Barty coffee with everyone at home.
